Hon-Maru is the sacred place where Heihachi Mishima trapped Jin Kazama and lured Kazuya Mishima to in Tekken 4. When Jin breaks free of his chains, he fights and defeats both Kazuya and Heihachi. Shortly after Jin leaves (by using his Devil wings to fly through the ceiling and away from the place), Hon-Maru is attacked by Jack-4 robots. For a while, Kazuya and Heihachi team up and fight together. But Kazuya turns on Heihachi, throws him to the Jacks, turns into Devil, and flies away. One Jack self-destructs, almost killing Heihachi.

[edit] Tekken 4 Stage Description

In Tekken 4, Hon-Maru is an unlockable stage. However, there is a stage in Tekken 5that is presumably a partially destroyed Hon-Maru, after the explosion caused by the Jack-4 robots in the prologue. Hon-Maru appears to be constructed entirely of wood, as the floor creaks whenever a character moves. There are also many lanterns, held by golden statues that form an "X" formation. Their purpose is to illuminate the arena. Three golden statues and a giant door stand parallel to each other on either side of the stage.

Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama are the only two characters whose Story Mode leads them to this stage(Heihachi also fights in this stage, but as part of Jin's Story Mode).

For the Tekken 5 Hon-Maru stage, see the "Burning Temple" article.

[edit] Trivia

  • This stage is available in Tekken 4 after beating Tekken Force mode.
  • Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama are the only two characters whose Story Mode leads them to fight in this stage (Heihachi also fights in this stage but as a part of Jin's Story Mode).
  • This stage is included in the Tekken 3 and Tekken 4 side-game Tekken Force. Heihachi Mishima is the boss of this stage. In the Tekken 4 addition, the player fights his way around the various parts of the Hon-Maru compound until they get to the main stage (featured in the above image).
  • In Tekken 5 it was revealed that Jinpachi Mishima was imprisoned somewhere beneath Hon-Maru.
