Emily Rochefort, better known under her nickname, "Lili", is one of the new characters in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, alongside Sergei Dragunov and will return in Tekken 6 and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. She is the only daughter of a wealthy oil magnate in Monaco. She is a sixteen-year-old girl whose fighting style is labeled as "Street Fighting". Lili became interested in fighting when she was kidnapped and held ransom, when she was twelve years old. She managed to take out one of her captors while struggling violently to free herself. This triggered her hunger for battle. Because her father is a good-hearted man who hates conflict, and because Lili loves her father very much and does not want him to be upset with her, Lili took part in street fighting tournaments around the world under the guise of a vacation from Monaco. Lili acquired an invitation to The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 after defeating an opponent in San Francisco. Realizing that the Mishima Zaibatsu, the main source of her father's problems, is the sponsor of the tournament, Lili decides to enter the tournament so that she can put an end to her father's business troubles. In Tekken 6, however, Lili's father discovers that Lili was a participant in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, so he grounds her. This prevents Lili from getting revenge on Asuka Kazama, the person that defeated her in the tournament. Her father's oil fields were taken over by the Mishima Zaibatsu, particularly Jin Kazama. Lili enters The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to reclaim her father's company and ease her father's anxiety, caused by overworking himself.

Nothing is known about Lili's mother, as she has not been seen or mentioned in the series.

[edit] Analysis of Lili

Nothing much is known of Lili yet, though she appears somewhat childish, compassionate and arrogant.

In general, Lili's behavior appears haughty, as she seems to strive for grace, beauty, and poise with every movement—even and especially during fights. She is also very confident in her fighting abilities, as shown by her winning and pre-match quotes. Her behavior, however, is split between efforts to sate her own need for fighting and a deep love for her father, who abhors violence. As an example of the latter, before fighting her Stage Four sub-boss, Ganryu, Lili says that he has robust eyebrows, just like her father's.

Lili has shared the same fate as Dead or Alive's Hitomi, as she has become one of the most popular characters despite her status as a newcomer. She is also similar to Hitomi on the fact that she practices martial arts and is closest to her father more than her mother.

[edit] Appearance and Outfits

Lili is a Monegasque teenager with straight long honey-blonde hair trimmed with bangs that cover her forehead. Because of her love of fashion, Lili has four unique outfits. In Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection; her first outfit features a gray corset with gray denim jeans (with embroidery) and white shoes (possibly sneakers). Lili also has black wraps around her hands and a band around one of her arms. Her second outfit features a white Victorian-style dress that ends in a skirt, along with white boots and a red-and-black gingham-patterned ascot tie. This is described as her primary outfit. These costumes are also available for Lili in Tekken 6. Her third outfit, only featured in Tekken 6, features a red shirt with a black skirt, white stockings, and black shoes. This outfit may be customized to resemble a Federation uniform from the anime Mobile Suit Gundam. The last outfit, also featured in Tekken 6, is a purple sweater and dark pants, complete with a beret and sunglasses.

Her second outfit, and all of its customizations have a heavy Lolita theme, popularized in Japan. Headresses, miniture top hats, and glasses all suggest that her second costume is a obvious nod to the Lolita fashion style, and it complements Lili to such perfection, as the Lolita subcultures strive for elegance, grace, and beauty just as she strives for in her battles.

Her "street fighting" style appears to mix moves from classical dance and/or ballet. Other moves derive from gymnastics techniques, such as cartwheels and handstands. Some may say that it resembles a form of wushu. Others say that it may be tricking, a comparatively new martial art form.

• Lili is currently the youngest (human) character in the Tekken series, as she is only sixteen years old in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. Ling Xiaoyu was the only other character to debut at the age of sixteen.
• One of Lili's customization parts is that of having the Prince of All Cosmos from Katamari Damacy on her head. Another customization item is the ringlet hairstyle of Karin Kanzuki from Street Fighter Alpha 3, a character with whom she shares many similarities. Even more so, if her 2P outfit is changed to a completely red color, she appears to look completely like Karin.
  • Lili's rivalry with Asuka Kazama is very similar to Karin's rivalry with Sakura Kasugano in Street Fighter Alpha 3.
• Lili has a butler named Sebastian, who appears in her ending movie and is mentioned by Lili in two of her winning quotes.
• In Tekken 6, Lili can be customized to look like a jockey.
• Lili is the only character in Tekken who currently has long, untied hair (Christie Monteiro's hair had previously been untied in Tekken 4).
• A Maxim model named Natalie starred as Lili in the Tekken Maxim Photoshoot for the Maxim magazine.
• Even though the official language of Monaco is French and her last name is of French origin, Lili speaks English.
• In Lili's Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection prologue, it states that she defeated an opponent in San Francisco and obtained an invitation to The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 from him, and during this part, the screen shows a man with tanned skin and black hair laying on the ground, unconscious. He is also wearing blue pants and a long-sleeved white shirt with blue sleeve cuffs (at 0:45 - 1:10). This man bears a striking resemblance to Forest Law in his Player One outfit. However, it has yet to be confirmed who this man actually is.
• Lili can be customized to somewhat resemble Elisabeth "Sissi" Delmas, a character from the France-produced animated television series Code Lyoko. All that is needed are three customizations: Bustier (color it pink), Punk Style (purple is the best color for it), and Black Hair. So far, however, you can only Sissify Lili in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, and it is unsure at the moment if you can do it in Tekken 6.
• In Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, Lili's ascot tie was originally windblown. In Tekken 6, it is straight.
• Lili's "Item Move" feature in Tekken 6 is a headdress that gives her a new grab move. The headdress must be either black or white. For it, she flips over her opponent, and then she strikes them with her rear. Afterwards, she starts waving with one of her hands. The command for this move is "d/b+1+2" ([1] and [2]).
• Lili is possibly left handed, as she can be seen using her left hand in Tekken Bowling.

She’s a true daddy’s girl.

Lili is the only daughter of an oil tycoon residing in Monaco. Four years ago, while being attacked by a criminal group making profits from kidnappings, Lili suddenly became violent, and unexpectedly floored one of her attackers. It was at that moment that she first realized she took pleasure in defeating her opponents. However, deep down inside, Lili is a gentle person, she only wants to please her father, but she knows that he despises fighting.

Troubled by her situation, she tells herself "I don’t want father to hate me.. but I want to continue fighting". Her desire to fight couldn’t be contained, and for this reason, she uses a private jet to travel abroad to take part in street fights, which she enjoyed immensely.

One day, after defeating an opponent in San Francisco, she acquired an invitation to a martial arts tournament. Lili noticed that the sponsor of the tournament, the Mishima Financial Group, caused her father much trouble. With the assumption of the Mishima Financial Group becoming a useful asset to her father, she was determined to take part in the tournament.

Lili could no longer control her urge to fight.

Under the guise of a simple vacation, she used the family's private jet to take part in street fighting tournaments around the world.

One day, she receives an invitation to a certain fighting tournament from an opponent she defeated in San Francisco.

Lili soon realizes that the host of this tournament was none other than the Mishima Zaibatsu, the main source of her father's problems. She decides to enter the tournament and put an end to her father's business troubles.

Lili is walking through the Autumn Temple stage with a hand on her hip. She says, "This place is breathtaking. I really like it here." Ganryu appears behind Lili, holding a map, saying, "I can never find my way around this place. Heh heh." Noticing Lili, he says, "Miss, can you take a look at this? Do you know this place?" Lili notices him and says, "Wow! Such robust eyebrows! Just like my father's!" Then, she says, "No, I can't. I must remain focused until I've defeated Mishima!" A fight between the two ensues. After Lili wins, Ganryu is shown unconscious, with his head face-up in Lili's lap. Lili says, "You have a strapping face, but you're not very good, are you?" Lili starts laughing.

Final Stage - Jinpachi Mishima

Lili is walking through the Inferno stage when Jinpachi Mishima appears behind her (in his Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection "Devil" form). Lili notices him and turns around. She says, "So you're Mishima!" Jinpachi replies, "Indeed. My name is Jinpachi Mishima!" Lili responds, "I must eliminate you. For my father's sake!" A fight ensues between them. There is no animation shown after Lili wins this fight.

Lili and Sebastian celebrate her victory over the Mishimas, with Sebastian emotionally dabbing at his eyes with a handkerchief and Lili bursting into laughter at the thought of how pleased her father will be when he learns of the collapse of the Mishima empire. Lili's chauffeur, waiting in a limousine, turns on an in-car television to discover that Rochefort Enterprises has declared bankruptcy after a main trading partner, the Mishima Zaibatsu, collapsed. The chauffeur is visibly shocked at this. Lili, however, is blissfully unaware and still laughing. The chauffeur flees the limousine.

Lili competed in the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 5 behind her father’s back, but was defeated by Asuka Kazama. Once her father had found out about Lili’s participation, she was grounded, preventing her from claiming revenge on Asuka.

One day, her father’s oil fields are taken over by Mishima Zaibatsu control, and his company falls into disrepute, her father suffering greatly from overwork. Mishima Zaibatsu announces the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. Lili deduces that she can reclaim her father’s oil fields if she wins the upcoming tournament, easing the anxiety of her father. Lili decides to participate in the tournament to save her father.

Emily "Lili" Rochefort's storyline is unchanged between Tekken 6 and Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion.

• Lili was an enemy of Jin Kazama / Devil Jin and an ally of Hwoarang in a Tekken 6 trailer that was later revealed to be non-canonical.
• Sebastian is her butler.
• Lili wants revenge on Asuka Kazama after Asuka defeated her in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5.
• Her father doesn't like conflict and martial arts, and he grounds his daughter after he finds out that she competed in The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5 without his permission.
• Lili is after the Mishima Zaibatsu and its new CEO, Jin Kazama, so she can reclaim her father's oil fields.
