The Tekkenpedia

The Tekkenpedia is the best resource for all information about Tekken! This includes characters backgrounds, galleries, stories and character relationships. While Wikipedia is a great resource for Tekken, the Tekkenpedia aims to expand on it by diving much deeper into the Tekken universe with videos, character galleries, fan art, forums and gameplay discussion.

"Iron Fist in Kanji"

Character of the Month

Feng Wei debuts in Tekken 5 / Dark Resurrection, and he returns for Tekken 6 / Bloodline Rebellion. His fighting style is "Chinese Kenpo". He was the top student in his dojo before he killed his master during an argument about Feng breaking the rule for fighting outside of the dojo. Feng is responsible for the destruction of dojos throughout China and Japan, which leads to Asuka Kazama seeking vengeance for him putting her father in the hospital and Lei Wulong seeking to arrest him for his crimes. Feng's motivation for fighting is to retrieve the "Secrets of God Fist" scroll to increase his strength, and though he finds it during The King of Iron Fist Tournament 5, he is confused about its message, so he travels again to Japan for more information.

  • It seems that Namco is requesting some of the videos created for the Tekkenpedia be removed from Youtube due to terms of use violations. This is a shame and hopefully they don't come after the Tekkenpedia next. If someone knows a good alternative video hosting server, please list it on my talk page.

Edit: It looks like it's a lot more than just the Tekkenpedia videos. Combo videos are also being pulled, you can find a list on the YouTomb website of all Tekken videos that have been removed. I'm getting in touch with a Namco PR rep to try and find out what's going on.

  • Over the next few days I'm going to be rolling out some software that will help users translate the Tekkenpedia into other languages. If you are visiting from a different country or have a different language installed, you may be prompted to help translate a paragraph of text from English into your native language. Once we've compiled enough translations I'll create new wikis to hold the different language versions. These wikis will share a common images folder however.

  • If people are wondering what to do next on the Tekkenpedia, when we need help with filling out the character outfit pages. You can see an example of a completed page on Jin_Kazama/Outfits. A good page to start on could be King_II/Outfits.

  • The problem with timeouts on the website should now be fixed. It was related to the use of a program called "Imagemagick" to resize images. I've disabled this and enabled a different method to resize images which should fix all the problems the site has been having.

  • I realise the site has been getting a few outages lately. Basically I don't have enough money to support a decent server to run the site on, once I get a job again I'll be able to afford better hosting to get the site running. Stick with me, things should be back to normal again soon!
