[edit] Introduction
Angel was introduced in Tekken 2, and returned to Tekken Tag Tournament. She vies with Devil over Kazuya Mishima's soul, representing his good part. Not much else is said about her or mentioned beyond Tekken 2. Fans seem to speculate her origin as being due Jun Kazama's influence during their meeting in the second tournament. However, her bio seem to indicate that Angel has always been part of Kazuya, though it is entirely possible that Jun simply amplified the goodness already present in Kazuya's soul. However, since the creation of the Devil Gene concept, it is unknown whether or not if she is still able to do suppress Devil or if she even still exists or canon to the present Tekken storyline.
[edit] Trivia
- Tekken 2
- To unlock her and Devil, you must beat Arcade Mode using Kazuya. She's selected pressing one of the kick buttons while selecting Devil.
- Angel is the final boss if you play as Devil.
- Angel's sub-bosses are Heihachi Mishima (Stage 8) and Jun Kazama (Stage 9).
- In the Arcade version of Tekken 2, Angel is called Devil when you select her and when you fight in a match with her. She is also mute when fighting.
- Tekken Tag Tournament
- To unlock her and Devil, you must beat Arcade Mode with 13 different characters. She's selected pressing the Start button while selecting Devil.
- Angel's ending is almost identical to Jun Kazama's ending in the same game, which led many fans to erroneously believe that the two characters are one and the same, despite Namco stating that Tekken Tag Tournament is non-canonical, and that Angel is part of Kazuya.
- In Tekken Tag Tournament, all Jack robots (Prototype Jack, Jack-2, and Gun Jack) will go haywire if Devil's or Angel's laser strikes them.
- It's unknown what happened to Angel since she was not seen after Tekken 2. It is possible that either she was killed by Devil, since Devil and Kazuya are one, or she gave up trying to save Kazuya, seeing how he drew into evil anyway, letting his hatred and anger consume him.
- Other media'
- In the non-canon comic, Tekken Forever, Angel is shown as being a seperate individual as opposed to being a part of Kazuya's soul. She would later merge with Jun Kazama.
[edit] Story
Angel is the other half of Kazuya Mishima's soul. She represents Kazuya's good side. Although Kazuya is seemingly possessed with a black heart, there is still some good left in him. Angel will battle against Devil so that she may have Kazuya's soul.
[edit] Ending Animation "Fallen Angel"
Angel is sitting on top of a building during the night. She jumps off into the mist-like fog down below. As she falls, she sees all the fighters in the Tournament, from Heihachi Mishima to Devil. What looks like the x-rays of bones are shown, and then Devil being surrounded by several angels. The image fades away and Angel is shown forming a ball of light in her hand.
[edit] Pre-fight and Win Animations
[edit] Pre-fight Animation
Angel slowly rises from a crouching position until she is fully standing up.
Note: This pre-fight animation will only show before fighting Angel in "Arcade" mode. It will not show up if it is a regular fight against Angel".
Angel moves her arms around, first upwards, then forwards, and then downwards slightly, until she is in her fighting stance.
Note: Because none of the characters in Tekken 2 have normal pre-fight animations, this pre-fight animation is not in Tekken 2. It is only in Tekken Tag Tournament.
[edit] Win Animations
1 and 3: Angel is crouching, with her arms covering her face while energy surrounds her. A few moments later, Angel flies up into the air slightly and starts firing a beam from her forehead up towards the sky, with her arms at her sides.
2 and 4: Angel crosses her arms, and she turns her head towards the left.
Angel is a playable character in Tekken Tag Tournament. However, Tekken Tag Tournament is not a part of the Tekken series' canonical storyline. This is Angel's last appearance as a playable character so far.
[edit] Ending Animation
Angel stands next to Devil, who is laying on the ground. She crouches and touches his head. Devil transforms into Kazuya Mishima (the screen goes white during this transformation). A closeup of Angel smiling is shown. Kazuya regains consciousness, and rises slightly. Angel is nowhere to be seen. This ending takes place in Unknown's stage.
